| KEMTI Picked as Logistics Facility Function Testing Agency | | On December 18, 2006, KEMTI was designated as a testing agency for logistics standard facility functions by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards(KATS).
The logistics system certification is an advanced system that certifies all logistics processes, ranging from transportation of goods, storage, classification and packaging to delivery to final consumers.
Aiming to enhance corporate competitiveness through reduction of high logistics costs, KATS plans to expand use of the LS Mark(Standardized Logistics Equipment), which enterprises receive for products, pallets, forklifts, conveyors, industrial PDAs, etc., and to implement an improved system encompassing all logistics standard facilities.
In accordance with the regulations of the Distribution Industry Development Act and the guidelines for certification of logistics standard facilities, KATS designated KEMTI as testing agency for logistics standard facility function and Korea Logistics Association(KLA) as a certification body.
With the designation, KEMTI began to receive inspection applications and issue test certificates starting January 1, 2007, which will contribute significantly to reducing the logistics expenses of enterprises dealing with distribution and logistics firms.
