| KEMTI Holds Int'l Plastic Pipe Symposium | | The Plastic Pipe Reliability Assessment Center of KEMTI held the 7th ¡ºInternational Plastic Pipe Symposium¡» on December 7, 2006, at Daedeok Convention Town in Daejeon City.
The 7th symposium was designed to improve the reliability of domestically manufactured plastic pipe products and to help domestic firms pursue overseas advance through introduction of new product development trends around the world, status of domestic and overseas pipe markets, etc. The symposium was sponsored by the Society of Plastic Pipe Standards and Technology, organized jointly by KEMTI and two other agencies, and supported by the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards(KATS), Korea Gas Safety Corp. and related business communities.
World-renowned experts, including Technical Director Stephen Boros of U.S. PPI, Pipeline Engineering Consultant Ferry Mutter of the Netherlands and Vice President, Dr. Joerg Lohmar of Degussa China, joined domestic experts from Korea Land Corp., Environmental Management Corp., KATS, Korea University and related business communities to present lectures on their specialties.
The day's activities proceeded from 09:00 to 19:00, allowing participants to discuss ¡¸Plastic Pipe-Related Business and Criteria¡¹, ¡¸Product Development and Growth of Plastic Pipes¡¹, ¡¸Status of Plastic Gas Pipelines Abroad and Discussion¡¹, etc.
